The Urban League of Greater stands firmly against the legalization of medical marijuana, and we believe that it will have an adverse affect to children and to our community. We’ve taken a public stand against legalization and hosted a Marijuana Summit on May 18, 2013 to sound the alarm of the impending legislation and to alert the community on the impact and consequences of the proposed legislation.

hello, and thank you for your position on stopping amendment 2 from destroying our childrens lives –
i am a drug abuse counselor in orlando and have seen the damage done to our valuable young people by both the drugs, and the increasingly permissive attitude by our society – and its conmen.
i currently belong to several of the coalitions working to defeat it, and am happy to offer my services to speak at any organization meetings in central florida on this issue. i am also a member of the National Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors ( http://www.naadac.org) Speakers Bureau and the American Society of Addiction Medicine ( http://www.asam.org).

When Cannabis can be found in any populated city in the entire United States I find that you are failing in your protection of children. Further supporting failed prohibition policy will continue to grow black market organization whereas legalization would require regulated dispensaries that ID. If you want to help kids your stance ensure the exact opposite of what you say your reasoning is. I question if you care for kids at all.
