Miami-Dade District 2 School Board Member Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall was honored at the 24th annual Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Awards Recognition Umbrella Luncheon on Saturday, April 29, at the Miami Shores Country Club. The event, hosted by the Metropolitan Dade County Section of the National Council of Negro Women Inc. (NCNW), recognized community leaders and section members for their contributions to the residents of Miami-Dade County. This year’s awardees included Bendross-Mindingall for “Woman of the Year;” Urban League of Greater Miami President/CEO T.
