The Urban League of Greater Miami congratulations the Miami-Dade Police Department for being awarded a Byrne Criminal Justice Innovative (BCJI) Program Grant for $1 million. The ceremonial check will be presented on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at 10am by Congresswoman Frederica Wilson in a press conference held at the Northside District Station, located at 799 NW 81 Street.
The award administered by the Bureau of Justice Assistance of the U.S. Department of Justice will employ data-driven strategies, across government and the private sector, to reduce crime and violence in neighborhoods where a significant proportion of crime occurs as compared to the overall jurisdiction.
