The “Posse” — the volunteers of the League’s “Development Revolution,” is inviting candidates for Miami-Dade School Board District 2 to address the community.
The Posse will host a town hall forum on August 5th, giving each of the five candidates an opportunity to address the people most impacted by the Board’s decisions, and to answer questions from voters.
District 2, home to more “F” schools than any other Miami-Dade school district, is at a crossroads. The seat is open, with no incumbent, for the first time in many years. As we prepare for new leadership in the district, the Posse, the community, and the League believe it’s critical that the community have the opportunity to question each of the candidates, and for the candidates to tell us, in clear terms, how they plan to improve the quality of education in District 2.
The forum will take place Thursday, August 5th at 6:30 p.m. at:
Freedom Hall
8400 NW 25th Avenue
Miami, FL 33147
All five candidates for the District 2 seat have been invited to attend the forum. UPDATE: To date, candidates Darryl Franklin Reaves and Sandy Moise have confirmed they will attend (get more information and candidate bios here.) The other candidates are:
Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall
Vanessa Woodard Byers
Sandra ‘Sandy’ S. Moise
Ronda Vangates
We will keep you posted on the developments of this important event.
